Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday reiterated that government servants are not allowed to accept gifts. Commenting on the arrest of a minister’s political secretary for allegedly accepting bribes in the form of a branded watch, Dr Mahathir said it was up to the people to evaluate the crime.

“If there are gifts, they should only be limited to flowers, food and fruits. Anything else such as cars cannot be given or accepted. The giver and receiver will be in the wrong,” said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
